The Minister of Electricity, Jorge Márquez, reported on the ministry’s X account @mppeevzla that the 38 wind turbines of the Paraguana wind farm, located in the municipality of Los Taques, in the state of Falcon, are operating.
He stressed that in this way, the orders of President Nicolás Maduro were carried out in record time.
The inspection was carried out in the presence of the entity’s governor, Víctor Clark, who said that there are still 14 projects to be launched that will be operational in the coming months.
Once the equipment is started up, each wind turbine will be able to generate 1.2 megawatts of electricity, “which means we will generate about 40 to 50 megawatts more electricity for the national power system,” he said.
On June 25, Márquez, who is also vice president of the Ministry of Public Works and Services, met with people’s power organizations organized in Paraguana to develop a work plan to protect the safety and operation of this infrastructure.
The meeting with organised personnel was also aimed at refining strategies to make progress in improving electricity services in the state.
During his visit to Falcon, Minister Márquez supervised the installation of the Punto Fijo I substation, an action contemplated in the Falcon Entity’s Comprehensive Plan for Stabilization and Strengthening of the National Electric System (SEN).
He also visited the Corpoelec Integrated User Services Centre (Ciau) in Punto Fijo to verify the rehabilitation work he ordered to begin in order to provide quality care and services to users.
