Terengganu state Muslim imam Datuk Mohamad Sabri Harun said Islam forbids Muslims from chanting the “Qunut Nazilah” prayer against other Muslims as it is a call for their destruction.

(Focus Malaysia) – “Islam prohibits reciting the Qunout Nazira prayer for fellow Muslims, regardless of political differences or views on issues,” he said. Daily Rays today.

He cited the words of the Prophet Muhammad and Imam Ansari to support his views, saying: “In addition, Imam Ansari also criticized any destructive prayers against fellow Muslims.”

Earlier, Perikatan Nasional (PN) MPs recited prayers in the Dewan Rakyat, allegedly to protest the suspension of Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal and express solidarity with the Palestinians.

Qunut Nazilah is a special prayer recited by the Prophet of Islam during certain battles to pray for the destruction of non-Muslim enemies.

Muslims are not allowed to say such a prayer to Muslims, and when PAS MPs recited it in Parliament, they may have committed an act prohibited by Islam.

Social media videos suggested the video was aimed at Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the Opposition MP’s move was an abuse of religion, while Perlis Mufti Datuk Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin criticised the public prayers for politicised purposes.

Netizens also criticized the opposition’s actions.

One X user uploaded a poster that quoted three top Islamic figures in Malaysia, saying the prayer could not be used for Muslims.

Another user said they were sure the opposition’s prayers would work against them like karma.

A non-Muslim user on X sarcastically said that being a Muslim under the leadership of the Islamic Party is a good thing because the party will eliminate all his sins. – July 21, 2024
