Houthis promise ‘massive’ response

The Israeli military said it targeted the port area because it is “the main supply route for Iranian weapons from Iran to Yemen,” including the “drones used in the attack” that took off from Tel Aviv. Houthi spokesman Yahya Sari said: “The response to the Israeli aggression against our country is inevitable and will be huge.”
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant responded that other actions against the Houthis would follow “if they dare to attack us.”
Humanitarian assistance, collateral damage
Yemen’s internationally recognized government, backed by Saudi Arabia, condemned the Israeli attacks, holding Israel responsible for a worsening humanitarian crisis, but also warned the Houthis not to drag the country into a “pointless fight that serves the interests of the Iranian regime and its expansionist plans in the region.”
Firefighters on Sunday were still battling blazes sparked by an Israeli assault on Hodeidah, a key entry point for fuel and humanitarian aid into Yemen. It raised concerns about worsening shortages in the impoverished Arabian Peninsula country, where a war between Houthi rebels and the government since 2014 has created a dire humanitarian crisis.

Lebanon’s Hezbollah is much closer to Israel than Yemen, about 1,800 kilometers from the country, and hostilities between the powerful pro-Iran movement and the Israeli army are almost daily. The latter said on Sunday it was targeting two “Hezbollah weapons storage depots containing rockets and other weapons” in southern Lebanon, near the border with northern Israel.
Israeli soldiers also carried out a large-scale operation in Rafah in the south of the territory this Sunday, carrying out intense bombing and fighting with Hamas.
