The Bucharest University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Carol Davila” (UMFCD) will organize entrance exams on Sunday, with 4,204 candidates registered, more than half of them, 2,743, competing for 737 budget-funded places and 250 competitive places. The undergraduate entrance exams for the fields of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy within the UMFCD, as well as for the Faculty of Midwifery and Medical Assistance (FMAM), will be held at several locations in the capital. Candidates who registered for the open competitive places for the Faculties of Medicine and Dentistry will be held at the Bucharest Romexpo Exhibition Center (Pavilions B1 and B2), as well as for the Faculty of Pharmacy and FMAM, for which the organizers have provided spaces within the Faculty of Pharmacy, located in the Palace of the Medical Faculty of Bucharest. Regarding the distribution of tuition fees for admission by faculties for the academic year 2024-2025, the Faculty of Medicine (360 credits, 6 years of study) has 737 budget-funded places and 250 fee-paying places. The Faculty of Dentistry (360 credits, 6 years of study) has 201 budget-funded places and 100 fee-paying places, the Faculty of Pharmacy (300 credits, 5 years of study) has 100 budget-funded places and 20 fee-paying places, while in FMAM, for the professions of General Healthcare and Midwifery (240 credits, 4 years of study), there are 119 budget-funded places and 70 fee-paying places, and for the professions of Dental Technology (3 years of study and 180 credits), there are 44 budget-funded places and 40 fee-paying places, respectively.

This year, for the first time, two competitive places were allocated in the field of medicine for future employees of the Romanian Intelligence Service, with a total of 5 candidates registered. Compared to the situation in previous years – in 2023, a total of 1,625 places were competed for at the UMF “Carol Davila” (1,245 places financed by the state budget and 380 places by fees), a total of 3,844 candidates registered, which is 347 more compared to last year. 2022 edition – In 2022, a total of 1,623 places were competed for (1,245 – financed by the state budget, 378 – fee-based), a total of 3,497 candidates registered (2,405 – medicine, dentistry – 552, pharmacy – 115, FMAM – 425) By 2021, a total of 1,629 places were competed for (1,236 – financed by the state budget, 393 – fee-based), of which 3,427 registered candidates, 101 more than in the 2020 edition, (2,337 – medicine, 595 – dentistry, pharmacy – 122, FMAM – 345). 2020 – 1,160 places financed by the state budget and 292 places with a fee, with 3,326 high school graduates applying, including 2,246 for medical majors, 541 for dental medicine, 134 for the Faculty of Pharmacy, 405 for FMAM); 2019 – 1,154 places, of which 310 are paid places (total number of candidates: 3,058, 2,002 for medicine, 448 for dental medicine, 181 for the Faculty of Pharmacy, 427 for FMAM); Fees The tuition fees for the undergraduate study cycle for the 2024-2025 academic year determined by the Senate of the UMF “Carol Davila” are similar to those of last year: 15,000 lei/academic year for the Faculties of Medicine and Dentistry, 10,000 lei per academic year for the Faculty of Pharmacy, 8,000 lei per academic year for the Faculty of FMAM. The annual tuition fee will be paid in 3 installments (the first installment – 50% of the annual fee, the second installment – 25% of the annual fee, the third installment – 25% of the annual fee). As for the registration fee for the UMFCD undergraduate entrance examination, this year it is 500 lei.
