He said that Kyrgyzstan’s joining the Eurasian Economic Union has significant advantages, especially in the field of customs preferences. At the same time, although Uzbekistan remains an observer of the Eurasian Economic Union, it also has its own tax advantages.
“However, if Uzbekistan becomes a member of the Eurasian Economic Union, these advantages will disappear. Therefore, it is time to open joint projects and processing plants,” Shamkiyev said.
He also noted that Uzbekistan has more advanced technology in agriculture compared to Kyrgyzstan.
“Uzbekistan has made great efforts to develop agriculture. As a result, in Uzbekistan they earn about $12,500 in profit from one hectare of land, while in Kyrgyzstan this figure is only $700-800,” the economist said.
Shamkeyev called for learning from Uzbekistan’s experience in agricultural technology, chemistry and other industries.
