Former President Trump specifically mentioned Battleground state Nevada In his speech at the Republican National Convention, he foreshadowed how he hopes to dominate a state where he has twice lost.
“The centerpiece of our economic rescue plan is a massive tax cut for workers, and it includes some measures that are actually very popular.
“It’s very welcoming in this building, and the hotels that I saw were very nice. I stayed at a very nice hotel. It’s called ‘Tips Free,'” he said in a speech Thursday night formally accepting the Republican presidential nomination.

He noted that he got the idea from a server in Nevada.
“I got the news recently at a dinner in Nevada, where we’re leading by about 14 points,” Trump said.
“The government has been going after my tips,” he recalled her saying. Trump said he asked her if she would like to not collect taxes on the tips. She said, “What a great idea,” he said.
“The waitresses, the caddies, the drivers, all the people — that’s a whole group of people who are being badly hurt,” the former president explained. “They make the money. Let them keep it.”

Trump publicly floated the idea during his campaign last month and in a Meeting with Senate Republicanswho hope to win a majority in the Senate in November.
“I think what President Trump is selling to all of us is no taxes,” Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wisconsin, told Fox News Digital at the time.
“He sees this as a classic example of how working people can’t get ahead in this economy,” said Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo.

Nevada relies heavily on tourism, especially in Las Vegas, and winning over workers could mean the difference between victory and defeat in the upcoming election.
Trump lost Nevada in both 2016 and 2020, but the prospects for 2024 appear much better. Fox News PollTrump leads President Biden by 5 percentage points in the state, 50% to 45%. The poll was conducted before the presidential debate and Trump’s assassination.

Trump also endorsed Nevada Republican Senate candidate and former U.S. Army Captain Sam Brown during his speech on Thursday.

He mentioned that Brown was seriously injured during his deployment in Afghanistan.
“By the way, there’s a senator in this room from the great state of Nevada named Sam Brown, and he paid with his life,” Trump said.
As uncertainty increases On Biden’s candidacySome predict he could drag down lower-level Democrats, including in Nevada, meaning not only does Trump gain an advantage in the key swing state, but Brown and other Republicans also have a chance to flip Nevada red.
