Critical levels of A-positive and O-positive blood types have been reached. The National Blood Transfusion Service said this would lead to some operations being cancelled and patients not receiving the transfusions they need.
NBTS stressed, “We need your help to ensure hospitals have adequate blood inventory to meet the needs of patients in need.”
The service said it therefore continues to encourage Gozo people to continue to attend donation drives to help patients in need get the blood they need in a timely manner.
The next meeting in Gozo will be, Tuesday, July 23, 1 to 5 p.m.at the Xewkija Community Clinic.
“As always, we thank you very much for your cooperation and generosity,” the service said.
The centre is located at the Xewkija Community Clinic in Triq tall-Hamrija, between the primary school and the Bocci Club.
