Hundreds of public school administrators and staff are undergoing a training program called “Surviving an Active Threat” at Tiyan High School, according to the Guam Department of Education. The Guam Department of Education, in conjunction with the Guam Department of Homeland Security, launched the training program to equip school administrators and staff with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively respond to emergencies. The Guam Department of Education said the “Surviving an Active Threat” training program is designed to train non-traditional first responders in a proactive manner to enhance preparedness for active threat incidents.
