The rest of the story

Even when we put the mic down and move on to the next episode, some stories continue to unfold. That’s why at the end of each year we look back, take stock of the past, and bring you updates on those stories that are still unfolding.

That’s why, at the end of every year, we have a tradition called “The Rest of the Story.” We bring you updates on the stories we’ve covered and the people we’ve met along the way.

We’ll hear from a Hollywood strike captain trying to complete one last mission, an update from a data detective trying to uncover the truth about academic research, and a worker who tried and failed to get more time off.

We also want to pay tribute to Earnest Jackson, the singer-songwriter at the heart of the Inflation Songs Project. He will be missed. His musical genius lives on.
