The Ministry of Health warned that two dengue outbreaks were recently reported in Pirae Commune near CHPF.

To prevent the spread of the disease in the city, the Environmental Health Center of the Health Department will carry out insecticide treatments in the area from Laurent Lebihan Street to Taaone Street at dawn on Monday, July 22 and Friday, July 26. The CSE technical team will also search for and eliminate larval breeding sites (any stagnant water) in the area on Wednesday, July 24.

It should also be remembered that the country has been in a state of dengue alert since November 27, 2023, with cases mainly found in Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora.

Dengue symptoms appear three to fourteen days after the infectious bite, most commonly high fever, headache, body aches, nausea and rash. If these signs occur, it is recommended to consult a doctor immediately, who will prescribe diagnostic tests.

To prevent and slow down the possible spread of the disease, the public is advised to consult a doctor if they suspect they have dengue fever (high fever, headache, body aches), to remove mosquito breeding sites around their homes and finally, at work, to protect themselves from bites, especially by using skin repellents, insecticides, diffusers, etc.
