Tegucigalpa – After holding a hearing for the defendants’ statements, the judge decided to impose house arrest on André Natanael Lobo, the driver of the vehicle in which Mia Cáceres and Kevin Cáceres died.
This was reported this morning. Melvin DuarteA spokesman for the Honduran judiciary explained that the young man remains hospitalized in a teaching hospital.
Mía Pamela Cáceres Ordóñez, from Toccoa, Colón province, who lived in the capital while studying for a degree at the Catholic University, died last Sunday (July 7) in an accident in the Honduran capital.
On Thursday, July 11, Kevin Cáceres, 22, cousin of Mía Cáceres, died, having been in critical condition since last Sunday.
The driver of the car, young André Natanael Lobo, was injured and has been in hospital since that date, but a hearing was held on the defendant’s statements.
Duarte explained that the judge decided that he must follow the rules of house arrest, which he must first follow in the hospital where he is detained.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ) added that the first hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, July 23.
However, the young defendant is not required to be present in court at the said hearing and is therefore expected to be represented only by his legal representative. (RO)
