Through the 1×10 system of Hugo Chávez’s good governance and great mission of equality and social justice, more than 1 million technical assistances have been provided throughout the country.
This was reported by the president of the National Council of People with Disabilities (Conapdis), Soraida Ramírez Osorio, during a one-day attention event held this Wednesday at the headquarters of the Ministry of Communes and Social Movements, located on University Avenue in Caracas.
During the event, 16 prostheses were provided for people with reduced mobility. Wheelchairs, crutches, tibial and femoral prostheses and medicines were also donated. The resources for these donations were provided by the José Gregorio Hernández Delegation and Conapdis.
Ramirez noted that after the prosthesis is delivered, the patient goes through a rehabilitation process to get used to the prosthesis.
Likewise, he stressed the importance of such assistance for the inclusion of persons with disabilities, noting: “When we provide human assistance, when we provide prostheses, we guarantee not only the right to inclusion, but also their right to mobility, independence and freedom of movement.”
“It’s a blessing because I had an accident not long ago and it wasn’t taken into account,” said Elvis Enrique Sanabria, a Zulia resident and one of the favored patients.
