China is reportedly imposing mandatory censorship on technology companies’ artificial intelligence (AI) models.
The Financial Times quoted sources as saying that the Cyberspace Administration of China has asked ByteDance and Alibaba (09988), Moonshot, and 01.AI, to participate in the government’s mandatory review of AI models to ensure that the systems embody core socialist values.
The review work reportedly includes batch testing of large language models’ responses to a range of questions, many of which involve politically sensitive issues in China.
