The Research Grants Council announces the 2024/25 Areas of Excellence Scheme (12th round) and Theme-based Research Scheme (14th round)Funding Results3 and 7 research proposals from the two received funding respectively, with total funding amounts of HK$236 million and HK$330 million respectively, totaling HK$566 million.

The Chairman of the Research Grants Council, Prof. Tong Wai-cheung, mentioned that the Council supports universities to consolidate and leverage their strengths to enhance Hong Kong’s research capabilities. He believes that the project will have a profound economic and social impact on Hong Kong, the country and the world.
