The man will be questioned by police.

East Kingston police arrested a man Tuesday during an operation on Rockfort Corner Lane where a loaded semi-automatic handgun was seized.

The 32-year-old man was detained on reasonable suspicion of possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorized possession of ammunition.

Police reports said that around 11:50 p.m., officers were conducting an operation in the area and found a Beretta semi-automatic pistol with six 9mm rounds in the magazine on him.

He has been detained and will be questioned and is expected to be charged later.
