The President of the Republic, Nayib Bukele, inaugurated Data Trust, the first Tier III certified commercial data center in El Salvador. The project has a construction area of 44,000 square meters.
A three-hectare science and technology park
During the ceremony, President Bukele highlighted the scale of the project: “The park covers an area of three hectares and the construction area will reach 44,000 square meters. “This data center here is the only one of its kind in our country.” The technology park, with an investment of US$30 million, is positioned as the second largest in the region.
The Data Trust will begin operations with the goal of keeping corporate data safe through advanced storage and processing solutions. It will provide public cloud, server, storage, network, infrastructure, and security and reliability services worldwide. In addition, it will provide placement and leasing services for physical space for storing electronic devices to the public and private sectors.
The Data Trust was inaugurated in November 2021, when President Bukele stressed that investments in technology would become one of the fundamental pillars of national development: “In November 2021, we inaugurated this building and naturally we began the transformation of El Salvador, one of which was to eliminate the technological gap,” the President recalled.
