Mexico City (apro) – The former national leader of the PRI, Dulce María Sauri Riancho, confirms that the draft resolution proposed by Judge Reyes Rodríguez Mondragon declaring inadmissible the questioning of the methodology and the call for the re-election of the president and national leader Alejandro Moreno has no connection to the “Mothers Challenge”.
This afternoon, Reyes Rodríguez Mondragon explained that dissidents must first exhaust internal resources to challenge the process.
“In terms of the principle of self-organisation, it is considered appropriate that the party first resolves issues directly related to its internal life,” the item will be voted on privately by party members in a senior chamber meeting to be held in the next few days.
In response, the former governor of Yucatán explained that the draft resolution was about the call for elections of national leaders issued on July 11.
“This is not referring to the main challenge, namely that relating to the 24th session of the General Assembly, which has not yet been resolved,” he stressed.
Sauri Riancho explained that the main appeal filed by Pedro Joaquín Coldwell and Enrique Ochoa, and supported by her and Manlio Fabio Beltrones, was the request for the nullification of the National Congress held on July 7, since the electoral law prohibits political parties from holding such meetings and approving changes to the statutes and fundamental documents without the electoral process being concluded.
If Judge Reyes Rodríguez Mondragon’s project is successful, TEPJF must provide resources to the PRI Judiciary so that it can resolve these issues within the mandatory deadline (which expires on July 22).
