Monday midnight is the deadline for the 27 EU member states to express their views on the EU’s temporary tariffs on imported Chinese-made electric vehicles. According to Reuters, in addition to Sweden’s abstention in the vote, the German Ministry of Economy also stated that Germany has not yet made a decision in the discussion on whether to impose additional tariffs on Chinese-made electric vehicles, which actually confirmed that the country abstained from voting.

A spokesman for the German Economy Ministry told Reuters that Germany participated in the discussions during the consultations but had not yet made a decision; it believed that the most critical thing now was to seek a quick and consensual solution with China.
