In her speech after her re-election, European Parliament President Roberta Messora said that the Cyprus issue needs to be resolved in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions and the principles and values of the European Union.
He said: We are marking 50 years of sadness in an artificially divided Cyprus. Our generation must be able to find a way forward, supported by the UN plan. We must finally close such a dark gap in Europe’s history through a sustainable solution, based on Security Council resolutions and our European values.
