Maria Corina Machado, leader of the Venezuelan Vente party, urged citizens on Monday to remain at election centers throughout the day on July 28 to support witnesses.
Machado asked people to organize with family and friends to make this happen. Likewise, he stressed the importance of taking turns to ensure there is someone at the center throughout the day. “Agree with your friends to take turns and that our centers are staffed throughout the day so that our witnesses know they are there,” he commented.
The political leader also asked members of the “Comanditos” to carry out tasks such as delivering food to the centers or mobilizing neighbors. From 6:00 p.m., everyone has the right to participate in the review, which is a public event. “We will count the ballots one by one and we will stay there. This is a day that requires vigilance and a lot of work. “We have been fighting for this moment for 25 years and this moment has arrived,” he said.
Machado said a new era would begin in Venezuela on July 28, with everyone equal before the law. “We will hug each other, we will bring our children home … we will vote, we will win, we will be paid, we will celebrate,” he said.
