That’s why people’s credit is misplaced. The Azamara Quest cruise ship arrived in Skagafjörður in the first week of July to a warm welcome, but guests still encountered northern mare and foggy mud. Today, the National Geographic Explorer arrived at the port of Sauðárkrók in clear, warm and calm weather. However, the ship first stopped at Drangi, and several groups of passengers boarded the island accompanied by Drangi Faltur.
“Yes, the weather was good… It was smooth sailing to host them in Drangey like this. 50 people went to Drangey, but others who didn’t believe they could go up took a rubber dinghy from the boat to sail around the island,” said a spokesperson for Drangeyjarferði Feyki when asked about the visit.
The NGE meets in Drangey at around 6am and arrives at the port of Krók for lunch, where passengers can either board the bus or stroll into town.
