Israel’s foreign minister condemned the Slovenian government’s decision on Thursday to agree to recognize an independent Palestinian state.
Foreign Minister Israel Katz said the decision, which requires Slovenia’s parliamentary approval, was a reward for Hamas, referring to the Palestinian movement’s October 7 attack on the Gaza Strip, which Israel subsequently launched a war on.
He added: “I hope the Slovenian parliament will reject this proposal.”
