On Monday, the Slovak Road Administration (SSC) signed a contract for the construction of the Šaľa bypass with the winning bidder. It is a consortium of Hochtief SK, sro, Hochtief CZ as and MBM-GROUP as. The contract price is €78,799,985 excluding VAT. The work should start in August this year. The construction contract period is 36 months from the date the contractor takes over the construction site. The first vehicles may pass through the Šaľa bypass in late summer 2027. SSC spokesperson Jana Lukáčová informed about this.

The new bypass will be nearly 12 kilometers long. The project includes 119 construction objects, 14 of which are bridges. The longest bridge over the Váh River will be more than 700 meters long. The Šale bypass will start behind the existing bridge over the drainage channel of the Kráľová waterworks and extend northwestwards by a bridge over the Váh River around the village of Kráľová nad Váhom, then around the towns of Dlhá nad Váhom, Šaľa, and Trnovec nad Váhom in the north. The end point of the bypass will be near the village of Horný Jatov.

Between the village of Dlhá nad Váhom and the town of Šaľa in the Veča district, a connection with road II/573 is proposed, which will create a bypass around the village of Dlhá nad Váhom from the direction of Šala and Serede. Large roundabouts are proposed at the intersections with roads II/562, II/572, III/50811 and at the beginning of the section separating from the old route I/75. At the intersection of the new route I/75 with road III/50844 and the old route I/75, a junction is proposed.

The construction of the line was led by external forces of the municipality. The operation of the bypass line requires the transshipment of the existing engineering network, which is caused by the construction investment of the project. These are the transformation of strong and weak current lines, gas pipelines, water pipes and facilities.

The signing of the contract follows the successful completion of a second public procurement announced in July 2022. The first public procurement for a contractor for the work was cancelled and the selection of a contractor was successfully completed almost five years later.
