Qatar Research, Development and Innovation Council, in partnership with Qatar Airports Operations and Management Company (Matar), has launched new opportunities for open innovation to enhance training and develop employees in the field of human resources through innovative adaptive learning programmes, with proposals received by 8 August at the latest.
The committee and “Matar” invite startups, small and medium-sized companies and other companies to submit proposals for solutions for metacognitive assessment through artificial intelligence, which will address customized adaptive microlearning and improved reporting mechanisms. “Matar” has developed a comprehensive reporting mechanism. Talent management capability framework, based on… data-based insights and efficiency network analysis, which will support companies’ cross-functionality and improve employees’ growth and career paths.
On the occasion, Mr. Oscar Barranco Libana, Director of Corporate Innovation Programs at Qatar Research, Development and Innovation Council, explained that the Council, through this opportunity within its groundbreaking program “Open Innovation in Qatar”, is committed to empowering local institutions through innovation to overcome existing challenges.
He continued: “We identify key business challenges within local organizations and collaborate with the best innovation partners around the world to reduce time to market for innovations and increase return on investment. ‘Matar’ companies will benefit from the Council-affiliated Qatar Open Innovation Program, enhancing their promising capabilities and capacities and meeting business needs through AI-powered digital tools, specifically designed to meet individual needs for current jobs or future career paths.
Sebastian Arcadios Fogton, Senior Vice President of Human Resources at the Airport Company, noted that investing in its employees and adopting innovative solutions in learning and development is an integral part of the growth strategy pursued by the company, considering the provision of adaptive learning as part of efforts to support the growth and development of its employees, with the department continuously developing and supporting the company’s overall development plan.
He added: “There is no doubt that our collaboration with the Qatar Research, Development and Innovation Council and the Qatar Open Innovation Initiative will help accelerate our access to the digital learning model we seek and have designed specifically for us.”
The Qatar Open Innovation Program is the primary platform for startups and innovators to engage with potential buyers from government agencies and corporations to engage in the development of market-ready solutions that address the country’s most pressing challenges in five national priority sectors, namely Energy, Health, Resource Sustainability, Society and Digital Technologies, as outlined in the Qatar Research, Development and Innovation Strategy 2030, to drive economic prosperity by identifying opportunities for innovative collaboration.
