An 18-year-old man drowned in the Laborec River in Zemplín, and was found lifeless by mountain rescuers. On Sunday evening, the Greater Capuchin Police requested the Mountain Rescue Service (HZS) to cooperate in the search and rescue and reported the incident.
A young man from Slovakia, who has been missing since Saturday, should have drowned in the river near the village of Ižkovce in the Michalovský district in the evening, according to the HZS. Two HZS members with two service dogs joined the search under difficult conditions.
“HZS dog handlers managed to find the body of the missing person under the water’s surface. It was subsequently pulled ashore by members of the HaZZ, unfortunately without signs of life, and handed over to members of the Slovak Police Force,” HZS said.
