The Joint Operations Command announced the destruction of a “terrorist nest” in the eastern Saladin province.
The command said in a statement, “On Sunday, the security forces of the Sulaymaniyah province successfully carried out a security operation in the Karakhangir area east of Kirkuk, killing a member of the ISIS terrorist group and arresting another terrorist, and through his investigation, he admitted that there is an important hideout of ISIS elements in the Saladin operation area in the east of the Balkana Mountains.
The statement added that “with the high level of coordination between the National Security Service and the Kurdistan Region Asayish Operations General Directorate, with the supervision, follow-up and planning of the Joint Operations Command’s Aerial Target Group and the use of technical resources, the hideout was monitored and the terrorists were inside.”
“According to the confirmed information, the F_16 aircraft belonging to the Air Force Command, Sky Falcon was able to target the nest and completely destroy it above the heads of the terrorists,” the command statement noted.
