Hashd Net – Al Nadra – Special:
The cholera outbreak hit the rural village of Makraw “Al-Oud” in the Nadira district of Ibb governorate, an area controlled by the Houthi militia (central Yemen).
Medical sources reported to “Hashd” that the cholera epidemic has spread to several areas outside “Al-Oud”, most notably “Hadda, Shaab Al-Marisi, Amqa, etc.”, where dozens of confirmed cases of infection have been recorded, with deaths recorded since the beginning of the week.
The source explained that health centers and hospitals in the region receive dozens of confirmed cases of people suffering from severe diarrhea every day, noting that a death was recorded the day before yesterday in the Hatta isolation area.
She said the number of victims of the pandemic is increasing significantly due to the collapse of health conditions and the lack of medical equipment and equipment in hospitals to detect and assess the outbreak, as the Houthi militias are plundering material and in-kind support provided by international organizations to the health sector.
She pointed out that the deterioration of the economic conditions of citizens due to the suspension of salary payments for government employees was the main reason for the failure in fighting the pandemic, which soon began to claim the lives of citizens due to low immunity and malnutrition.
The Health Ministry, which is controlled by the Houthi militia, has remained suspiciously silent in the face of the deadly epidemic, despite warnings from the medical community about its expansion.
