Moscow, July 14. – Russian authorities assessed on Sunday that the United States should use funds provided to Ukraine to strengthen its internal security after an attack on former President Donald Trump at a rally and after Kiev has acknowledged several attempts to assassinate President Vladimir Putin.
“Perhaps it would be better to use this money to fund the police and other services that should guarantee law and order within the United States?” asked Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova in response to criticism from Bobby Kennedy, nephew of former President John F. Kennedy, who spoke of the “failure” of security agencies to protect Trump.
Zakharova also referred to recent statements by the head of Ukraine’s military intelligence service, Kirillo Budanov, who admitted to multiple attempts to assassinate President Putin and assured that these plans were developed with American funds.
He said without the funding, Ukraine’s intelligence and security services would not be able to carry out such “harmful activities.”
“Through massive funding and an uncontrolled supply of weapons, Washington has created a terrorist organization in Ukraine: the Kiev regime. It is a machine for murder, bombings, sabotage and terrorist attacks against politicians and civilians,” Zakharova said.
Former US President Donald Trump was injured at a pre-election event in Pennsylvania on Saturday, with his face covered in blood as he was forced to evacuate after hearing gunfire. Two people have been confirmed dead, including the gunman.
