Jakarta(ANTARA) –
The Indonesian government strongly condemns the recent attacks on civilian facilities including a children’s hospital in the Ukrainian capital of Kiev, which resulted in civilian casualties.

“These attacks violate international law; there are rules of war,” Turkey’s Foreign Ministry said in a post on its social media accounts on Thursday.

The ministry also called on all parties to make peaceful efforts to ensure a complete cessation of the war in Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia of attacking a children’s hospital in Kyiv on Monday, on the eve of a 2024 summit in Washington by leaders of the 32 North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) member states.

Meanwhile, the head of the Kyiv city military administration, Sergei Popko, reported that several buildings and vehicles in the capital’s Solomia, Holosiv, Darnitsa and Svyatoshin districts were damaged by missile fragments.

A children’s hospital in the Shevchenko district was among the buildings damaged in the attack, which killed at least seven residents and wounded 25 others, Popko said.

Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov refuted Zelensky’s accusations, stressing that the Russian military only used high-precision weapons to attack military targets to avoid civilian casualties.

“We did not attack civilian targets. The attacks were directed at important infrastructure and military targets,” Peskov said on Tuesday.
