VIDEO: An explosion at an FBI training facility in Irvine, Southern California, injured 16 people on Wednesday, officials said. The blast occurred shortly before 1 p.m. as officers were using the facility on Magazine Road, an Orange County Sheriff’s Department spokesman told CBS Los Angeles. The sheriff’s department said 13 of the injuries were related to the noise of the blast, which caused victims to suffer dizziness and ear pain. Two victims suffered leg injuries, one of whom required surgery. A sheriff’s spokesman said the other suffered a back injury but did not require surgery. “It’s never good when anyone is injured, including our own personnel,” said Sheriff Frank Gonzalez of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. “The most serious injury was to one of our SWAT team members who suffered a leg injury that required surgery.”
