Is South-South cooperation just a slogan?

The term “Global South” is often used to refer collectively to all non-traditional industrialized countries. But because the Global South is made up of countries in Africa, Central and South America, and parts of Asia, its capabilities and economic activities are far more diverse than its label suggests—and its emerging markets offer a wealth of opportunities for economic growth, investment, and cultural contributions.
exist World Social Science Forum 2015 This week in Durban, South Africa, the discussion centred on how countries in the global South can unite to become drivers of their own collective growth. In other words, how can they become stronger together?
Jurek Seifert of the German Institute for Development Research and Development Policy believes that South-South development cooperation is assistance between equal parties and is fundamentally different from North-South cooperation.
