The organizers decided to end the festival early due to a strong storm that caused the large tent to collapse.
The police filed a criminal case for public endangerment in connection with the collapse of a tent at the Pohoda Festival. The Trencin Regional Police reported on social networks that the police helped search for the injured that night and took all necessary actions to secure the crime scene. The Traffic and Order Police patrol organized traffic on the roads, taking into account that most of the participants had decided to leave during the interruption of the festival.
“At present, an extensive examination of the crime scene is being carried out, with members of the Criminology Directorate of the Presidium of the Police Force also present. Police investigators brought the Žilina Institute of Forensic Engineering into the proceedings,” police added.
Organisers ended the Pohoda Festival early after a fierce storm on Friday and the collapse of a large tent. They decided to do so after considering the timing of checking the safety of the festival buildings. Rescuers treated 15 people at the scene, two of whom were seriously injured.
