Showers or thundershowers may occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North Western provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.
Some areas may experience heavy rainfall of more than 50 mm.
There may be showers or thundershowers at isolated places in Uva Province, Ampara and Batticaloa Regencies in the evening or night.
Strong winds of around (40-50) km/hr may be seen at times over the Northern and North Central Provinces and Trincomalee and Hambantota districts.
The general public is advised to take precautions against local strong winds, lightning and other weather disasters during thunderstorms to minimize losses.
