SANEP survey on trust in politicians: More people trust only one person than none – Home – News

According to the exclusive May survey of ta3 by the SANEP agency, Zuzana Čaputová remains in the top three most trusted politicians, with Ivan Korčok ahead of Michal Šimečka.

Peter Pellegrini is the most trusted politician in Slovakia in May 2024, according to the SANEP survey.




The SANEP May survey focused on the trustworthiness of politicians. According to the current SANEP survey, the most trustworthy politician is the newly elected President Peter Pellegrini. 51% of respondents trust him, while 39% do not trust him.

The second most trusted politician is Prime Minister Roberto Fico, who is currently trusted by 41% and distrusted by 51%. Outgoing President Zuzana Čaputová is third in terms of trust. Currently, President Čaputová is trusted by 35% of respondents and distrusted by 55%.

Politicians trusted by around 30% of the population include Interior Minister Matuš Šutaj Eštok (32%), Defense Minister Robert Kaliňák (30%) and unsuccessful presidential candidate Ivan Korčok (29%). Korčok is followed by Progressive Slovakia leader Michal Šimečka, who has a trust rating of 21%, while 64% of respondents do not trust him. KDH Chairman Milan Majerský has a trust rating of 20% and a distrust rating of 53%.

The president of the Hungarian Alliance, Krisztián Forró, is currently trusted by 18% of the respondents, while 74% do not trust him. The head of SNS, Andrej Danko, is also trusted by 18% of the respondents, while 65% do not trust him.

The head of SaS Branislav Gröhling and the chairman of We are a family, Boris Kollár, have the same 17% trust. Milan Uhrik, the chairman of the Republican Movement, is trusted by 16% of voters, but not by 57%. Jaroslav Naď, the leader of the non-parliamentary Democratic Party, has a trust rating of 13% and a distrust rating of 65%. Currently, the leader of the Slovak Movement, Igor Matović, has the lowest trust rating, with only 9% of respondents trusting him and nearly three quarters of respondents (74%) distrusting him.

The exclusive SANEP survey for ta3 TV was conducted from 24 to 28 May 2024. Data collection was carried out using CAWI technology on a selected group of 2,400 respondents representing a representative sample of the population of the Slovak Republic aged over 18. The representative sample was selected using the quota selection method and, according to the Slovak Statistical Office, corresponds to the socio-demographic distribution of the Slovak population.

The statistical error of the above population is within ±1.5%.

All results and models shown are valid only at the time the data were collected.
