Egypt’s Foreign Minister arrives in Mogadishu for inaugural EgyptAir flight

MOGADISHU (HOL) – Mogadishu (HOL) – Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdalati arrived in Mogadishu on Friday on the inaugural EgyptAir flight to Mogadishu, further strengthening relations between the two countries.

Somalia’s Foreign Minister Ahmed Moalem Fiki welcomed Abdulati’s delegation at Aden Adde International Airport where the launch ceremony was held.

The two ministers expressed at a press conference the hope that the EgyptAir flights would serve as a basis for expanding cooperation between the two countries.

Minister Fiki stressed that the new flights are expected to boost trade, tourism and investment opportunities between Cairo and Mogadishu, thereby strengthening economic relations.

Flight MS873 will stop in Djibouti before continuing to Mogadishu. EgyptAir will operate biweekly flights on this new route to enhance connectivity between Cairo and Mogadishu and promote economic and diplomatic exchanges between Egypt and Somalia.
