The LBS secretary general admitted that ticket sales for the final would have earned around 360,000 euros, but he pointed out that the publicly announced spectator figures did not correspond to the number of tickets sold – the attendance figures also include tickets from invitations and lotteries, but in many places LBS does not sell tickets at all because this is not allowed by FIBA ​​rules.

With the help of state funding, LBS will receive profits for the development of its sport, but Cyprus is not really willing to agree to such a statement. “I think the biggest beneficiary is the Latvian state. Yes, we get income only because the state cannot provide what is stipulated in the sports law. We are looking for ways to provide the national team with what the state does not provide. If we and all teams are on the Olympic team, then all problems will be solved.”

Tsiprous added that if the cost of any project is lower, some money will be returned to the state budget from the allocated funds. However, the secretary general of the LBS pointed out another fact – if the cost is lower, then the money must be returned to the state, but if the cost is higher, then the LBS itself must find additional funds.
