The new Chief Executive of the former National Assembly, Major Ide Abdu Kambe, held his first meeting with the administrative and technical staff of the institution on Tuesday. The meeting followed a series of guided tours of different councils, committees and services of the former assembly.
During the meeting, Major Kambay highlighted the challenges of his new mission, especially in the context of public administration reform. He expressed his gratitude to the Head of State, Brigadier General Abdulrahman Tiyani, for the trust he had placed in him.
Major Campbell reiterated his commitment to the successful completion of the mission, calling for cooperation and self-sacrifice. He insisted on forming a strong team that is aligned with the goals of the CNSP and has met with service managers to identify obstacles to its normal functioning.
The visit gave us a clear understanding of the various organs of the former General Assembly, including eight councils, seven permanent general committees and three departments under the General Secretariat. Major Campey declared that he wanted to respect ethical and professional behavior and guarantee the rights of staff within the scope of current regulations.
Aware of these challenges, Major Kambé expressed his determination to work to expand the influence of the parliamentary executive at the national level and within the institutions of the Alliance for the Sahel (AES). He announced deep reforms to improve the functioning of the institution and called on employees to adopt a new mentality and behaviour.
Major Cambay promised to strengthen the momentum of council management with determination and transparency by taking courageous decisions for the upcoming restructuring. Regular meetings will be organized to assess the progress of services.
