The people of Bunyoro and Toro come together to have fun and celebrate their culture over the weekend. This was during the Kwegoza Avenue event held at the UMA grounds in Lugogo.

The event was sponsored by Pilsner, a brand of Uganda Breweries Limited, which joined the celebration with great enthusiasm and set up an immersive cultural village, which became a highlight during the event.

The village aims to showcase the rich traditions and customs of the Bunyoro and Toro communities, offering a variety of fun activities. Visitors enjoy traditional music and dance performances, and try their hand at making local crafts while taking photos. The atmosphere is lively, filled with drums, singing and laughter.

“Our cultural villages are designed to bring people together and allow them to experience and appreciate our country’s unique traditions. We are committed to supporting and preserving Uganda’s cultural heritage through events like this,” explains Edgar Kihumuro, Brand Manager for Pilsner Beer.

As the sun began to set, the stage was set for exciting performances by Douglas Baiaruhanda aka Big Dago and rapper Runyonga. Sensational Winnie Nwagi closed out the night with a spirited performance, mixing modern beats with traditional ones that got the crowd pumping and everyone on their feet.

It was a day of unity, celebration and pride that perfectly embodied the spirit of Kwagoza Boulevard.
