Lankadeepa reported that reliable sources had learnt that Kanjipani, who was hiding in France, and Loku Pati, who was hiding in Dubai, were believed to be powerful kingpins of the underworld and had prepared a plan to kill seven people, including a popular singer and actor.

The report said that information was also received that seven people, including the pop singer and actor, had taken lakhs from the mafia and were planning to kill them, saying they would not return it.

Some of those allegedly on the killing list, including the singer and actor, said they had travelled to the countries where they were hiding to take part in mafia-run activities a few years ago.

When police media spokesperson DIG Advocate Nihal Talduwa was asked about this assassination plan, he said such news was being circulated.

The Tardua police media spokesperson also mentioned that police intelligence officers are conducting an investigation to determine whether the plan is true.

According to police sources, two underworld bosses Kanjipani and Loku Patti have been identified as the ones who hatched the plan to kill Vasansha in the club.
