Claudio Sforza to be appointed new CEO Benetton GroupThe formal appointment is expected to take place on June 18, a meeting that will mark a change of guard in the company’s control room and the exit of current CEO Renon.
Sforza has held important positions in large public and private companies and in various industrial sectors in the past: from Astaldi to Poste, to Ilva, Telecom and Wind. Graduated in Economics and Business at the University of Rome, he began his career in Administration and Finance at Pfizer. He then developed his career in the telecommunications sector, holding positions of increasing responsibility as General Manager at Italia, Iritel, Netscalibur, before joining IT Net as CEO. At Wind, he led the commercial divisions of large and small and medium-sized companies.
He then worked as CFO at Poste for eight years and headed the subsidiary Postel until 2011. He then became CEO of Gamenet. Finally, he worked as a lawyer for the asset management and liquidation of Astadi.
He will therefore be responsible for managing the restructuring and relaunch of the Benetton Group business, which, after review by the Board of Directors, recorded a loss of $230 million in the 2023 financial year.
