· Porsche has significantly updated the traditional sports car 911

· televisionHybrids system and improved capabilities

Porsche presents the updated 911 Carrera GTS and 911 Carrera. The new 911 Carrera GTS is the first official 911 to be equipped with a special mild performance hybrid system. The newly developed innovative system is equipped with a 3.6-liter engine and the data is significantly improved.

The 911 Carrera GTS Coupé accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in just 3.0 seconds and has a top speed of 312 km/h. As for the updated 911 Carrera, it is equipped with a more powerful and thoroughly revised 3.0-liter Biturbo-Boxer engine. In addition, the new 911 also features a refined design, improved aerodynamics, an updated interior, better standard equipment and modern multimedia functions.

Oliver Blume, CEO of Porsche AG: us In a few months we updated 4 of our 6 model families: Panamera, Taycan, Macan and 911I think it is even more so. Make it attractive to our customers PorscheBecause they personallyUrMouldA And exclusiveIS I provide more opportunities.

Innovative performance hybrid system inspired by motorsport

For the new 911 Carrera GTS models, the engineers developed a hybrid drive concept based on experience gained in motorsport. Different ideas for making decisions in favor of hybrid systemsA We developed and tested it to obtain a product that fits the 911 absolutely precisely. The result is a unique system that perfectly matches the 911 phenomenon and significantly increases its functionality.,says Frank Moser, Head of Production for the 911 and 718 model series.

The lightweight and powerful T-Hybrid system is equipped with a newly developed electronic turbocharger. The integrated electric motor drives the turbocharger to spin as fast as possible. At the same time, the electric motor also acts as a generator. It generates up to 11 kW of electricity.

The drive system also includes a synchronous electric motor integrated into the new 8-speed PDK, which produces up to 40 kW of power and a maximum torque of 150 Newton metres. Both electric motors are connected to a lightweight, compact battery that is comparable in size and weight to a conventional 12-volt battery but stores up to 1.9 kWh of energy and operates at 400 volts.

The main component of the T-Hybrid system is the 3.6-liter Boxer engine, which has been made more compact. The cylinder diameter has been increased to 97 millimeters and the piston stroke has been increased to 81 millimeters. As a result, the engine capacity has increased by 0.6 liters compared to the previous generation.

The boxer engine has 485 hp and 570 Nm of torque, with a total system power of 541 hp and 610 Nm. All this means an increase of 61 hp compared to the previous model. The effective hybrid system improves the car’s dynamic characteristics and, of course, reduces emissions. Compared to the previous model, the weight has increased by only 50 kg.

The 911 Carrera is still equipped with a 3.0-litre Biturbo-Boxer engine, but this unit has also been significantly modernised. Along with reduced emissions, power has been increased to 394 hp and maximum torque has been increased to 450 Nm. The new 911 Carrera Coupé accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds (3.9 seconds with the Sport Chrono package) and reaches a top speed of 294 km/h.

The chassis of the 911 Carrera GTS has also been significantly updated. For example, the rear wheels are now standard. This improves stability at high speeds and reduces the turning radius. The GTS-specific driving style is ensured by the sports suspension, which features a flexible damping system (PASM) and a 10 millimetre lowering.

The new 911 is available with seven wheel designs in 19/20 or 20/21 inches. For the first time, the 911 Carrera is available with Exclusive Design wheels with carbon fiber blades, which reduce the drag coefficient and increase efficiency. The 911 Carrera GTS models are fitted with 21-inch wheels on the rear axle as standard.

Sporty appearance

Porsche has improved the exterior design of the 911 with functional elements. Most of the changes are intended to further improve the aerodynamics and performance of the sports car. The lighting system has been updated and an adaptive diffuser is used in the lower body kit of the vehicle for the first time. As an additional option, Porsche also offers new main lights with HD-Matrix LED functionality – with more than 32,000 light points. The high-quality high beam illuminates the road with a range of more than 600 meters. Also noteworthy are innovative additional features such as dynamic cornering lighting depending on the driving mode.

The rear end features illuminated lines and lettering, making the rear end of the Porsche 911 appear lower and wider. The license plate is now slightly higher. The 911 Carrera models also offer a sports exhaust system as an additional option, while the 911 Carrera GTS models are equipped with a GTS-specific sports exhaust system as standard.

Fully digital cockpit

Porsche is presenting the coupe version of the new 911 as a 2-seater model in the series. In the interior, Porsche combines the familiar design DNA of the 911 with the latest technology: The focus is on the latest service concept Porsche Driver Experience and intuitive, fastest service, with the main elements concentrated on the steering system or around the wheel. It includes a serial switch for the driving mode, a control stalk for the driver assistance systems and, for the first time on a 911, a start button (obviously on the left). In the center console, you will find a cooling compartment for smartphones with wireless charging function.

For the first time, the 911 features a fully digital instrument panel. The 12.6-inch curved display can be personalised in a variety of ways and elegantly integrates into the new service and indicator concepts. The latter offers seven visual effects, including a unique, classic look and a historic 5-wheel design, with the tachometer in the middle, of course.

Porsche Communication Management (PCM) is once again controlled via a high-definition 10.9-inch central display. Both the services of the assistance systems and the range of individual modes have been significantly expanded.

The new 911 Carrera can now be ordered in coupe and rear-wheel drive convertible form. The 911 Carrera GTS is available in all-wheel drive and Targa versions. You can only get the Targa with all-wheel drive. Both models come with the PDK transmission.
