Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his delegation arrived in Jeddah today, Wednesday, to begin a visit to Saudi Arabia.
He was received by Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Amir of the Makkah Region, at King Abdulaziz International Airport.
The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) broadcast pictures of the reception, and Saudi Al-Ikhbariya channel also broadcast the scene of Zelensky’s arrival.
Yesterday, Tuesday, Zelensky participated in a conference in Berlin, where he demanded the necessary support for Ukraine, while calling on international companies to invest billions of dollars to rebuild cities destroyed after the war.
Kiev hopes the meeting will help bolster its future efforts to join the European Union, which would make it eligible for huge reconstruction funds, even as Russian troops continue to slowly advance in eastern Ukraine.
Switzerland will host a summit early next week to discuss ways to achieve peace in Ukraine.
