The city justified the decision based on the overall safety situation.
– Due to the general security situation, the Puoliväilkanka water tower was not open to the public during the Oulu Päivi in September. We sincerely apologize for the unfortunate situation. Hopefully, the world political situation will change in the future so that the tower can be open to the public again, the publication wrote.
The Pouliväräkankanka water tower is traditionally open to the public during Oulu Day, which is celebrated in early September.
