Damascus (SANA) – President Bashar al-Assad discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and the prospects for strengthening these relations at all levels in a telephone conversation with Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian.
During the meeting, President Assad affirmed that relations between Syria and the Islamic Republic of Iran are based on mutual loyalty and principles, and their importance stems from resisting hegemony in a volatile region targeted by historical colonial ambitions.
Iranian President Pezeshkian stressed Iran’s support for and resistance to Syria, and stressed the need to strengthen bilateral relations and implement the agreement between the two countries for the benefit of the people of both countries.
