According to Bloomberg, Microsoft informed its employees in China that they can only use iPhones at work from September, which is equivalent to prohibiting the use of Android devices in the workplace. As a one-time measure, all employees using Android phones will receive an iPhone 15. Bloomberg quoted an internal memo from Microsoft as saying that the company will soon require employees in China to only use Apple devices to confirm their identity when logging into work computers or mobile phones. This measure is part of Microsoft’s Secure Future Initiative and will affect hundreds of employees in China.

Currently, the Google Play app store is not available in China, and Microsoft has decided to prevent employees from using Android devices because there is no Google mobile service in China. Microsoft did not respond to the report.

Microsoft has been strengthening its global security measures in recent years in the face of state-sponsored hacking attacks, especially the Russian hacking incident in January this year, which affected several US government agencies including the US State Department. The company has faced pressure and criticism from the United States to improve its security performance.
