The Patriarch’s

I do not think I need to repeat what has already been written several times. Israel lost its moral advantage in Gaza after October 7th because it lost its response. The ends do not justify the means, and the collapse of Hamas does not justify the deaths of thousands of civilians in Gaza and the impoverishment of all Palestinians.

Here I close and turn to another war that many seem to want us to forget because it doesn’t fit into their narrative of the evil West.

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which began in 2014, has completed a decade of devastation, with the second phase, which began in February 2022, now entering its third year, leaving hundreds of thousands dead, cities razed to the ground, millions of refugees, and no visible trace of the future.

On the contrary, the danger of this war is growing day by day.

Just yesterday, Russian President Vladimir Putin directly warned European countries that if Ukraine uses Western weapons to strike targets in Russia, European territories will be hit. In fact, the threat is so cynical that it is chilling. I talked about small, densely populated countries in Europe, and everyone knows which ones border Russia.

Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macron said something self-evident during a meeting with the German Chancellor: Ukraine cannot be hit by Russian military forces near its borders and cannot fight back using weapons provided by the West.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Moscow is ready for negotiations as long as the realities on the ground are recognized. In other words, Turkey has been talking about Cyprus for years.

Negotiations for advance concessions on territory occupied by invasion.

But Ukraine is not an island in the Eastern Mediterranean. It is located in the heart of Europe and has been a bulwark for many other countries against Russian aggression for many years.

The danger of bloodshed, which is not limited to Ukraine, is obvious and we cannot remain indifferent.

Many European countries have warned of this possibility and are preparing for it.

Prayers and wishes will not lead to anything happening.
