The National Weather Service (SNM) in San Juan issued a flood warning for several areas in western and central Puerto Rico on Tuesday that lasted until 4:15 p.m.
The affected areas include the following cities: Adjuntas, Anasco, Lares, Las Marías, Maricao, Mayagüez and UtuadoDoppler radar indicates that these areas have already received 1 to 2 inches of rain due to thunderstorms, and another 1 to 2 inches of rain is expected, which could cause minor flooding.

The main impact of this situation will be waterlogging of roads and ponding of water in cities and other areas. Drivers are advised not to attempt to cross flooded roads as most flood fatalities occur in vehicles.
SNM reminds citizens that it is vital to remain cautious in these situations and to be aware of the current situation and follow safety recommendations.
