Ghanaian businessman Alex Kwaku Tetteh sued Hopeson Adorye for 1 million Ghanaian Cedis.

According to Tete, some of the comments Hopson made in a recent radio interview defamed him.

The convener of Ghana Citizen Watch filed the case over comments Adoyeh made during an interview on Okay Fm, where he allegedly said: “(Alex) drinks Akpeteshie (a local gin) and smokes ‘smoothies’”, adding that in his intoxicated state “what he said was complete gibberish, as if he was speaking from his anus…”

“As a result of the publication of the above statements, Plaintiff’s reputation has been severely damaged and has been subjected to public scandal, notoriety, hatred and contempt…” Tete’s lawyers said in the lawsuit.

He sought compensation of Ghana Cedis 1 million and asked Mr. Adoyeh to retract the statement and publish it in the country’s reputable media.
