The three parties in government are strong and have remained united since the coalition was formed after the 2022 general election.
Towards Fiji Live Outside Parliament today, NFP leader and Deputy Prime Minister Professor Biman Prasad said he met the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Viliam Gavokar this morning and reiterated their support for the coalition government.
“The prime minister has made it clear that he has held meetings with a number of independent MPs who have expressed their support for the prime minister.”
“They will remain independent MPs in the opposition who support the government,” Professor Prasad said.
Professor Prasad added that the focus was on passing the 2024-2025 national budget and delivering for the benefit of the Fijian people.
“We’ve been amazed at the support it’s gotten from people,” he said.
