The weather has been a little weird lately, with one hot and dry day followed by another with continuous rain. But experts predict that there is a high chance of extreme fire threats in the lead-up to Easter. Landon Aydlett with the National Weather Service said that high winds and dry grass could bring dangerous conditions that could escalate to very severe conditions this weekend. He told KUAM News: “We are looking at the potential for extreme fires on Guam, and this is the first time we have seen this in a few years. In the past few years, Guam has had a more rainy season, but this year it has been drier. So we may cross some thresholds this weekend, especially with the increase in winds. So we really want to let everyone know that the fire danger on the island is high this holiday weekend.”
